The Andalusian Arabian crossbred horse is known as Hispano Arabe in Spain. In the United States the International Andalusian & Lusitano Horse Association registers horses with at least half Andalusian (Spanish) blood or half Lusitano (Portugese). The Arabian Horses Association registers horses with half or more Arabian blood. Also, in the United States, there is a registry specifically for the Hispano Arabe. The Andalusian and Arabian horse breeds are counted among the oldest in the world. Both have historically been used to create and improve other breeds.
