Andalusians!  Why?  Simply, beauty and talent!  Looking for an equine dancing partner, Andalusians exemplify the cooperative spirit, classic conformation and elegance in motion that inspire the art of riding.

Imagine a horse... with a  light connection to the bit, an arched neck, thick flowing mane and tail, a strong swinging back, power and weight behind, elevation in front, natural collection, intuitive response, balanced, expressive and smooth gaits... an Andalusian.  Think of breeding as an act of faith with an ideal in mind.  Dream of riding as an almost other worldy communion with another species, knowing horsemanship is not only art but common sense and fun!  Can a horse ground you and give you wings?

We call our Andalusians "Caballos de Cielo," horses of heaven, sky horses, in appreciation of the airs above the ground performed by the classically trained Spanish horse.  Andalusians born on Angel Horse Farm are named with the suffix, "de Cielo," or in honor of an ancestor.  "Caballos de Cielo" honors their Iberian heritage and our family name, Angel.  We are proud to count Andalusians as members of our family.

Angel Horse Farm Andalusians are all registered with the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association, IALHA.  The association registers Iberian horses of pure Spanish and Portuguese descent and crossbred horses with a  purebred parent.  All horses trace back to the registries of Spain and Portugal.  Some breeders are dedicated to the preservation of the purity of specific bloodlines.  Some believe in utilizing the related Portuguese and Spanish bloodlines to reach their Iberian horse breeding goals.  Others are interested in using the unique capabilities of the Iberian horse to improve existing breeds and even to create new ones.  The IALHA has the unique mission of supporting all these breed ideals and most importantly maintaining an accurate and reliable registry for breeders and owners.  We have been members since 1995.  The IALHA sanctions regional breed shows and holds a yearly national show where exceptional Andalusians and horsemanship may be seen.

IALHA, part of a continuing tradition, promotes the legacy of the Andalusian and Lusitano horse in the United States and Internationally.  Andalusians!  The horse of kings and art, because an illustrious past foresees a glorious future.
